NEW! PRAYER SHAWL CLASS - Beginning March 4th , Linda Meszaros will be leading a crochet class on making a simple prayer shawl. This class will meet the 4 Mondays in March at 10am in the Potter Room. Everyone is invited to attend.

SHROVE TUESDAY PANCAKE DINNER – Tuesday, March 5th at 5:00pm in the Fellowship Hall. Hosted by the CCUM Adult Mission Teams. Donations accepted.

ASH WEDNESDAY – MARCH 6TH – Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the season of Lent. Lent is a time of preparation for Easter by observing a 40 day period of fasting, repentance, moderation and spiritual discipline. Christ Church will be offering two Ash Wednesday services on March 6th: 12:15pm Chapel service with Ashes & 7:00pm Centrum Multi sensory service with Imposition of Ashes and Holy Communion.

ATTENTION MEN – The next men’s meeting will be held on Thursday March 7th at 6 pm here at the church to hear a presentation and discussion with the Reverend Jonathan Moon on the recent Special General Conference. We will also be working on a service project, filling weekend backpacks for local children. The cost of the meal is $10, and it is suggested that each attendee also contribute $20 to help pay for materials to fill the backpacks. All men of the church are welcome. Please RSVP to Lisa Martin by Tuesday March 5.

LENTEN STUDIES - The season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday March 6. This year we will be offering several studies to assist you in the Lenten journey. Beginning Ash Wednesday, the Adam Hamilton study Simon Peter: Flawed But Faithful Disciple will be offered at Edgewood Summit at 11:00 a.m. Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. the FaithWeavers class (Room 153) will be studying Adam Hamilton’s Creed: What Christians Believe and Why. Our 9:45 Adult Sunday School classes will be offering different studies.

Canaan Class (Room 222)will be studying Seven Realities of Experiencing God

Pathfinders Class (Room 200) will be studying Creed: What Christians

Believe and Why

Benson-Epps Class (Room 228) will be offering a new study yet to be determined.

A Wednesday morning study on the Psalms of Ascent will meet at 10:00 a.m. in the Wolfe-Omega. In addition, we have materials for the six-week study Seeds of Hope published by the West Virginia Annual conference. Contact Lisa at the church office to get this study. Please join in any of these studies to grow in your Discipleship as we journey to the cross this Lenten season.

STEPPING UP - A JOURNEY THROUGH THE PSALMS OF ASCENT – This class meets on Wednesday mornings @ 9:30am in the Wolfe/Omega room.

LIBRARY NEWS - In the 248s, here are provocative titles: You're Going to be OK, Grandmother Time Anytime, Feminine Crisis in Christian Faith, Flying Solo, Keeping Faith at Work, Grief Relief, Empty Nest, Full Life; plus the sermons of John Wesley. The shelves are full now, so save your books for the Fall Fair. We still need a librarian or computer guru to log all the books in an online card catalogue.

CROSS MINISTRY 2019 IS UP AND RUNNING! We have a FULL schedule for this spring and our summer weeks are filling up! If you would like to be a part of this great ministry, here are ways you can help: Host a cookout or dinner one night for the group; Greet groups when they arrive and help get them settled in; make homemade brownies to give as a welcome treat; Be a site manager to give guidance to groups on-site.
