Weekend Update – February 22, 2019

ATTENTION ALL 24-34 YEAR OLDS - TUBING TRIP CANCELLED DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER.

STEPPING UP - A JOURNEY THROUGH THE PSALMS OF ASCENT – This class has been postponed to start on Wednesday, February 27th at 9:30 in the Wolfe/Omega. Study books are available in the church office if you would like to read/study up before the first class.

TWICE BLESSED CHILDREN’S CONSIGNMENT SALE - Sign up to be a consignor at www.twiceblessed.net. The sale is March 2nd, 8 am to 3 pm.

SHROVE TUESDAY PANCAKE DINNER – Tuesday, March 5th from 5-7pm in the Fellowship Hall. Donations Accepted. Hosted by the CCUM Adult Mission Teams. Everyone is invited so come out and show your support. No Reservations Needed.

MISSION COMMISSION NEEDS – empty liquid laundry detergent bottles. We are making a large batch of homemade laundry soap and need containers to put it in. Please bring your empty bottles to the church office area.

SUNDAY SCHOOL NEWS - If you are interested in assisting or teaching Sunday School during the winter, please contact Jonathan at jonathan@ccumwv.org.

SNACKS NEEDED - thank you for such an enthusiastic response to the Backpack Blessings ministry! Groups and individuals have stepped up and filled bags and tummies!! On Sunday, March 3rd, we will have grocery bags in the Narthex to pick up. These will have suggested food items on it and we ask you to shop and then return the filled bags on the 10th. If you have any questions please call the church office.

CONGRATULATIONS! The Christ Church Middle School Boys Blue team who defeated the Christ Church Middle School Boys White team for the city championship (47-31). WOW! What a season! Congratulations to both teams on a well played game!

NEW! PRAYER SHAWL CLASS - Beginning March 4th Linda Meszaros will be teaching a crochet class on making a simple prayer shawl. This class will meet the 4 Mondays in March at 10am in the Potter Room. Everyone is invited to attend.

CROSS MINISTRY 2019 IS UP AND RUNNING! - We have a FULL schedule for this spring and our summer weeks are filling up! If you would like to be a part of this great ministry, here are ways you can help: Host a cook-out or dinner one night for the group; Greet groups when they arrive and help get them settled in; make homemade brownies to give as a welcome treat; Be a site manager to give guidance to groups onsite. OUR HEARTFELT MISSION PROJECT OVERFLOWED!! - Thank you, one and all, for your wonderful response to our appliance project. We reached our goal and will be able to supply a new home with the appliances needed. After such a devastating loss of one’s home and belongings, what a wonderful blessing we can bestow to a family. You truly made a difference!!

PRO KIDS SMALL GROUP TIME - Sharon Iskra, member of CCUM, offers ‘Bible Time’ to the children who attend Pro Kids. She does this on a weekly basis and would LOVE to have volunteers to help her. You could read stores to the children or provide them with your talent or gift in a one- time presentation. Anything that enriches a child’s life is welcome.
