Weekend Update – April 11, 2019

SUNDAY, APRIL 14th – PALM/PASSION SUNDAY – Join us at 9:00, 9:45 & 11:00 as we celebrate Palm/Passion Sunday. Rev. Jay Parkins will be preaching on “The Beginning of the Week” – Psalm 118:1-22 & 19-29 and Luke 19:28-40.

CCUM T-SHIRTS FOR SALE – The blue CCUM t-shirts with the white logo will go on sale Sunday, April 14th . The cost is $10 each. These will come in handy when you volunteer for CCUMunity Day.

FALL FAIR PLANNING MEETING – Everyone interested in working in this year’s Fall Fair are invited to attend the first planning meeting on Thursday, April 25th @ 10:00am in the Potter Room. We need “all hands on deck” to make this event run smoothly. There is a job for everyone! Hope to see you there.

GRADUATE RECOGNITION: SUNDAY, MAY 5TH – There will only be one worship service on this day at 11:00am. On this day we will be recognizing the Confirmation Class and the Senior High/College graduates. Included in the Sunday bulletin will be a picture directory of all Sr. High & College graduates. If your child is graduating from Sr. High or College and you would like for them to be recognized in the picture directory then email Lisa (lisam@ccumwv.org) the following information: PICTURE OF CHILD Child’s Name Name of school graduating from Parent’s names Name of college/university attending(Sr. High) Degrees(College) Name of place of employment or future plans (College)

LABYRINTH NEWS – During Lent the Labyrinth will be available for prayer and meditation from 8am to 5pm Monday-Thursday and 8am to Noon on Fridays.

2019/2020 THE GROWING PLACE PRESCHOOL REGISTRATION – has begun. Registration forms are located on the church website at www.ccumwv.org For more information contact Cindy Cash at 304-342-0192 ext. 220

2019 SPRING HEIGHTS SUMMER CAMPS REGISTRATION – Once again this year the Methodist church camp, Spring Heights, will be offering summer camp experiences for children and youth. ASSISTANCE MINISTRY NEWS – Thank you to everyone who has donated toilet paper and empty detergent bottles. We now have plenty!

MISSING: TUB OF WHITE FABRIC – if you borrow the plastic tub of white fabric out of the Sacristy (located behind the Centrum) please return it to the Sacristy as soon as possible. That fabric is used on Easter Sunday.

CCUMunity Day

Sunday, May 19th

On this day come out and BE the church in our community! Spread God’s love around the Kanawha Valley through acts of grace-filled volunteer services that we will do this day. We will only have a brief service at 9:00am then we will head off to our various work sites. Be sure to register ahead of time to pick the place you want to work. To register visit the CCUMunity table in the Narthex or visit the CCUM website: www.ccumwv.org. There will be a job for everyone doing something, somewhere. CHILDCARE will be offered for babies and preschoolers from 9am to Noon. At 6:00pm in the Fellowship Hall we will gather for dinner provided by *Café Applachia. Reservations are required and donations will be accepted.
