Classes
Senior High MERGE – Led by Darick Biondi & Kara Moore – Focused discussions on relevant topics for our youth and how we as Christians are called to live
Mission Maniacs Club – Led by Kathy Chaney – For all 2nd – 5th grade students – During this time opportunities will be provided for your child to have meaningful, hands-on experiences demonstrating God’s love to others. This is an important part of growing as a Christian – to realize that in response to the fact that God loves us, God expects us to be Jesus’ hands and feet in this world. We will spend time learning about the needs of our community and then do something about it!
Sewing For Haiti – Led by Nan McDaniel – We will come together to turn pillow cases into dresses. Yes, you heard it right. In light of all the devastation that has taken place and is taking place in this part of the world the children are in need of clothing. So we will be putting our talents to work for God and helping to clothe the children of Haiti.
Renovate Or Die – (2 classes) - Led by Randy Flanagan and/or David Donathan – In order to change the world we must first change the church. Rearranging the pews, reconstructing the 2nd floor, cleaning the tower, and adding a new elevator is just not enough. With clear language and practical tips this study will inspire and help the church to get organized for a new church life. Let’s learn how to grow God’s church and discover the commitments that we must make to guarantee the fruitfulness of our congregation.
Faith, Art & Worship – Led by Jane Ann Hammett – Jane has a wonderful gift of creating beautiful visuals for personal meditation or for use in corporate worship. This class will explore the role of art as it pertains to use in both of these settings.
The Economics of Jesus – Led by Joel Watts – A small group study based on the Gospel of Luke - “Jesus wasn’t an –ist, but he did have economic views. This class will explore many of the economic views held by Jesus as told by Luke in his Gospel. It will be 8 sessions, focusing on the songs of Liberation, parables, other insights, and closing with a session on the Lord’s Prayer (in Luke) as we determine how best to bring about the Kingdom of God locally, and what role the Church plays in God’s economy. A study guide will be provided at the first session, which will introduce Mark and Zechariah’s songs of liberation in Luke 1 which sets the stage for the rest of the Gospel. It’ll be a mix of biblical studies, theology, fun and modern issues. Hopefully, a lot of fun though!”
Emotionally Healthy Spirituality – Led by Shauna Hyde – This study is a follow-up to the Summer Sermon Series. You can’t be spiritually mature while remaining emotionally immature. In this study we will discuss the tell-tale signs of an emotionally unhealthy spirituality. Then we will discover seven biblical, reality-tested ways to break through to a living, breathing, daily experience of the revolutionary life Christ meant for us to live.
**FREE Childcare – will be provided for any child whose family is attending a MERGE class on Wednesday evenings. Birth – 1st grade will be cared for by our wonderful nursery staff.
